Harleking has been much praised as last season's insider tip. The duo hypnotized spectators at dance festivals and dance platforms and made it into the Aerowaves Twenty19 list of the best European emerging choreographers.
Harleking is a demon with multiple identities. His body expressions resemble those of Harlequin of the Commedia dell’Arte, a sly servant moved by an insatiable hunger. "Harleking" is reminiscent of the grotesques: ancient wall decorations, in which monstrous figures merge with elegant ornamental volutes. Figures, which may evoke amusement, but not joy. With great physical precision, dancers Ginevra Panzetti and Enrico Ticconi have created an extraordinary choreography of great allure, in which they dismantle layer after layer of body iconography to expose the political and cultural legacy of gestures, including their relationship to violence. A dance experience that leaves no viewer untouched.
