Following the success of her piece Atem, Nadia Beugré continues her collaboration with the Staatstheater Darmstadt. Inspired by motifs from Mozart’s tragicomic opera Don Giovanni, the French-Ivorian choreographer develops a very personal view of the relationship “between two” (Fr. “entre deux”): people meet, attract each other, experience something together, part or are parted. Through the poetic energy of a virtuosic ensemble of dancers, Beugré tells of seduction – without the Don – beyond the Eurocentric gaze, of personal experience, stories of passion, physical and emotional contact, and of pain, desire and power.
