Glimmer
Rui Horta & Micro Audio Waves
Due to unforeseeable technical difficulties, we must unfortunately cancel Glimmer by Rui Horta & Micro Audio Waves on November 2. Instead, there will be an additional performance of Rave Lucid by the French ensemble Mazelfreten. All tickets already purchased remain valid or can be exchanged. We hope to be able to present the wonderful evening by our good friend Rui Horta and his company at a later date. We apologize for the short notice and thank our visitors for their understanding.
Synopsis
With Glimmer Rui Horta returns to a region that had a significant formative influence on his choreographic aesthetic: in the 1990s the Portuguese choreographer ran the legendary S.O.A.P. Dance Theatre Frankfurt that, for many people, represented the nucleus of contemporary dance in the Rhein-Main area. Now Horta, who is renowned for his genre-defying work together with the Portuguese electronica band Micro Audio Waves, returns. They have created a multimedia Gesamtkunstwerk that combines music, dance, light art and technological effects. Glimmer is an audiovisual spectacular – golden surfaces, biomorphic costumes and an intense atmosphere are used to generate a futuristic landscape where the body, nature and technology meet. Inspired by questions about Artificial Intelligence, climate change and collective responsibility, Glimmer presents a visionary scenario: vivid, pulsating and filled with hope for a world that has a place for everyone. A piece that celebrates, questions – and encourages dreams.
Strobe lights, extremely loud music, fog, extreme brightness
